bond.video Privacy Policy
Effective October 28, 2026
This policy explains what personal information bond.video collects, what we do with it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It covers bond.video, app.bond.video, the tutorial at app.bond.video/tour, and the emails we send. Together we call these the "Service."
bond.video is run by gcrft123, a sole proprietorship in Austin, Texas, doing business as bond.video. "We," "us," and "our" mean bond.video. You can reach us at support@bond.video or at PO Box 91062, Austin, TX 78709.
1. Who this policy is about
The Service has two kinds of users.
- A contractor runs a business on bond.video: the account that owns the business, and any teammates the owner invites. Contractors write quotes, contracts, change orders, and invoices.
- A client is a person a contractor works with. A client opens documents through a link or the contractor's portal, and may comment, suggest changes, approve, or sign.
This policy also covers people who join our waitlist at bond.video.
Contractors decide what information about their clients goes into bond.video and who they share documents with. For that client information, we act as the contractor's service provider: we store and process it to run the Service for the contractor, and for no other purpose. If you are a client and want to know how a contractor uses your information, ask the contractor. You can also contact us, and we'll help.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account. Your email address, your name and title, your saved signature, if you save one, and which version of our Terms you accepted and when. A saved signature is the strokes you draw or the text you type, stored as data.
- Business. Your business's name, contact details, address, logo, brand color, default sales tax rate, and the payment instructions you print on invoices. Payment instructions can include bank account and routing numbers, Zelle, Venmo, or PayPal details, or a mailing address for checks. These appear on every invoice you send.
- Clients. The name, title, company, email address, phone number, and address of each client you add.
- Projects and documents. Everything you or your client write in the Service: quotes, contracts, change orders, invoices, their versions, comments, suggested changes, project updates, deliverable links, payments you record (amount, method, date, and note), and templates you save.
- Signatures. When anyone signs a document, we record the name and title on the signature line, the email address they signed in with, whether they typed or drew the signature, the signature itself, the IP address our hosting provider saw, the browser's user agent, the time, a fingerprint (a SHA-256 hash) of the exact version they signed, and the version of our Terms in effect. This record prints on the last page of the signed document, so both parties can see it.
- Waitlist. Your email address and when you joined.
- Messages to us. What you send to support@bond.video.
Information collected automatically
- Sign-in. When you sign in, we email a one-time code and link. We keep the code for 15 minutes. After you sign in, we set one cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. A client gets a separate cookie for each contractor's portal. These cookies are necessary for the Service to work. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies.
- Request logs. Our servers log each request: the IP address, the time, the page or API route, the browser's user agent, and any error. We use these logs to keep the Service running and secure.
- Browser storage. The app stores a few display preferences in your browser, such as how wide you set the side columns. The tutorial keeps its practice project in your browser and never sends it to us.
We don't use third-party analytics, advertising pixels, or tracking scripts, and we don't track whether you open our emails. The only third-party script we load is Stripe's, on the checkout page, for payments and fraud prevention.
Information from others
- Stripe handles payments for our paid plans. Stripe collects your card or bank details and billing address. We never see or store your full card or account number. Stripe tells us your customer ID, your plan, whether your subscription is active, and when it renews, changes, or ends. Before you change plans, we show your card's brand or your bank's name and the last four digits, which we get from Stripe and don't store. On the checkout page, Stripe's script collects information about your device and browser to help prevent fraud, as Stripe's privacy policy describes. If Stripe warns that a charge may be fraudulent or a charge is disputed, Stripe tells us that too.
- Contractors give us information about their clients, as described in section 1.
- Teammates. When an owner invites a teammate, the owner gives us that person's email address.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Provide the Service: store your documents, show them to the people you share them with, keep edits in sync between browsers, render PDFs, and send the emails the Service needs (sign-in codes, invites, documents sent for review or signature, and portal codes).
- Keep accounts secure: verify sign-ins, limit repeated sign-in attempts, and find and stop abuse.
- Bill for paid plans and calculate sales tax, through Stripe.
- Record who signed what and when, so both parties can prove what they agreed to.
- Answer your questions and requests.
- Send product news and launch announcements to contractors and to the waitlist. Every one of these emails has an unsubscribe link. We never send marketing to clients.
- Comply with the law and protect our rights and the rights of our users.
We don't sell personal information. We don't share personal information for targeted advertising. We don't use your documents or your clients' information to train machine-learning models.
4. Who can see your information
People you work with
- Clients see the documents a contractor shares with them, the names of the people who worked on those documents, the comments and suggestions on them, the project's updates and deliverable links, and the contractor's payment instructions on invoices.
- Contractors see what their clients write and sign, including each signature's audit record, which includes the signer's IP address.
- Teammates in a business see that business's clients, projects, and documents. The owner also sees the team's email addresses.
Emails a contractor sends to a client through bond.video come from the contractor's business name, and replies go to the contractor.
Service providers
We use these companies to run the Service. Each one may use personal information only to provide its service to us.
| Provider | What it does for us |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare, Inc. | Hosting, database, file storage, email sending, PDF rendering, request logs, and DNS |
| Stripe, Inc. | Payments, subscriptions, sales tax, and fraud screening for our paid plans |
| Apple Inc. (iCloud Mail) | Receives email sent to support@bond.video |
Other cases
We may share personal information:
- When the law requires it, such as to answer a valid subpoena or court order. Where the law allows, we will tell you first.
- To protect the safety, rights, or property of our users, the public, or us, including to investigate fraud.
- If bond.video is sold, merged, or transferred. The new owner must follow this policy for information collected under it, and we will tell you before that happens.
- With your permission.
5. How long we keep information
- Your account and business data stay as long as your account exists.
- Deleted projects. Deleting a project removes it from your account. A client who received documents from that project can still open them, and a contract in it is marked void. The data is erased when you delete your account.
- Deleted accounts. If you ask us to delete your account, we delete it, your business, its clients, projects, and documents within 30 days. Database backups age out within 30 more days. Two kinds of records stay:
- Signed contracts. We keep each executed contract and its signature records for up to 7 years after it was signed, so that either party can still prove the agreement. We restrict these records and use them only to give a copy to a party to the contract or to respond to a legal claim.
- Billing records. Stripe and we keep billing and tax records as long as tax law requires, usually 7 years.
- Request logs are deleted automatically within 30 days.
- Sign-in codes expire after 15 minutes. Sessions expire after 30 days.
- Waitlist addresses stay until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you.
Before you delete your account, download PDFs of the documents you want to keep. Clients lose access to a contractor's portal when that contractor's account is deleted.
6. Your choices and rights
You can see and correct most of your information in the app. You can also email support@bond.video to:
- Get a copy of your personal information.
- Correct information you can't change yourself.
- Delete your account and personal information, subject to section 5.
- Unsubscribe from product news. You can also use the link in any of those emails.
We give these rights to everyone, wherever you live, whether or not a law requires us to. We will answer within 45 days. If we can't do what you ask, we'll explain why. If you disagree, reply to our answer to appeal, and we will respond to your appeal within 60 days.
To protect you, we verify a request by confirming it from the email address on the account. You may ask someone to make a request for you, and we may ask them to show they have your permission.
We won't treat you differently for using any of these rights.
We don't sell or share personal information for advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of.
If you are a client and want your information changed or removed, ask the contractor first, since the documents belong to their business. If they don't help, contact us.
7. Security
We protect information with encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and by storing only a fingerprint (hash) of secrets such as session tokens, sign-in links, client links, and early access codes. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will tell you as the law requires.
You can help: keep your email account secure, since anyone who can read your email can sign in to bond.video as you. Treat a client link like a key, and don't forward one you received.
8. Children
You must be at least 13 to use the Service. If you are under 18, you may use the Service only with the permission of a parent or guardian. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email support@bond.video and we will delete it.
9. Where information is stored
bond.video is built for people in the United States. Our providers store and process information in the United States, and Cloudflare may process it in other countries where its network runs.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version with a new effective date. If a change affects your rights in a meaningful way, we will email account holders at least 30 days before it takes effect.
